I am encouraged by the prospect of working alongside a new team of elected representatives whom I am confident will bring great ideas, a heightened sense of energy and a new vitality to both Council and the town.

As Your Councillor
I'm proud to have conducted myself in Council as if the people I represent have been sitting there watching me.
Some of my guiding principles have been that:
Leadership is displayed in one’s ability to bring together people who share a common goal; in helping to construct a plan that brings that goal to life, and ensuring the plan is executed.
Progress doesn’t happen through rhetoric it comes from learning the facts, making a decision based on all the information available and in having the courage to follow through.
Solutions are the outcome from having the humility to recognize that they are required in the first place.
Council Committees
In addition to the committees that all Council members attend, my committee work includes:
- Chair, Windsor Police Advisory Board
- Member, Joint Fire Advisory Committee
- Member, Advisory & Planning Committees, Regional Emergency Management Organization
- Public Information Officer, Joint Emergency Operations Centre
- Member, Planning/Heritage Advisory Committee
- Member, Windsor Business Enhancement Society
Today’s Windsor
I’d like to continue representing your interests with the following initiatives now in progress:
- ensuring our new public transit system undergoes the scheduling and route improvements it needs to better and more fully serve our people
- developing a cohesive vision for the town, and working with staff to develop a long term plan aligned with that vision
- continuing negotiations with West Hants toward creating a new fire station while safeguarding Windsor’s interests in maintaining our exceptional fire protection at a fair and reasonable cost
My Vision for Windsor
Here are a few of the initiatives I’d like to work on with our new Council:
- bring our tourism operators together to create an inclusive, year-round tourism product offering, then supporting that offering with an aggressive marketing plan
- work closer with law enforcement to ensure our police are more accessible, more visible and more responsive to townspeople’s concerns
- improve the level and quality of interaction Council has with its constituents as well as adopt a "no surprises" approach to policy making that engages the public and stakeholders to provide input at initial planning stages
Beyond Town Borders
Windsor is part of a larger community. Our Council can and should seize more opportunities to have an impact upon what takes place around us on issues such as:
- Exploring options for opening existing rail lines to provide commuter travel to Metro
- Monitoring the progress of the Highway 101 twinning project along the Windsor corridor to protect our area from becoming a dangerous traffic bottleneck
- Providing leadership in securing financial support for municipalities that respond to emergencies along provincial highways
- Better supporting our municipal neighbours and working together with the understanding that when our neighbours succeed, Windsor benefits from their successes, too.
